Roger Daltrey to tour Tommy
Roger Daltrey has announced plans to take rock opera Tommy on the road, with Pete Townshend's brother playing guitar.
Daltrey played The Who's famed album in its entirety at a charity gig last month and now he plans to take it on a tour of the UK in July.
Simon, Pete's brother, will make up part of the backing group, playing electric guitar.
Pete Townshend says, "I will be there in spirit and Roger has my complete and most loving support."
The Tommy tour will make stops in Manchester, Hull, Harrogate, Norwich and Glasgow among other cities. Tickets went on sale this morning at 9am.
Tommy was The Who's fourth album, released in 1969. It was mostly composed by Townshend.
It sold over 20 million copies across the globe and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998 for "historical, artistic and significant" value.
Daltrey will also be taking Tommy to a number of festivals, including family friendly GuilFest which takes place at Stoke Park, Guilford in Surrey.
He will also perform various other Who hits during the performance.
