Roger Daltrey penning Moon movie
Posted on 29 Mar 2010 10:00 to category : Music News

Roger Daltrey is planning to write a film about his late Who bandmate Keith Moon.
The singer has been approached numerous times to make a film about the hellraiser drummer but he's never been satisfied with the results, so he is now determined to oversee the project himself.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "The Keith Moon film depends on someone sitting me down long enough with a writer to get it right.
"If I sat down for six weeks with a good writer, I could get it done. I've got it all in pictures in my head. I know what the film should look like, the way the narrative should be structured.
"But every time I've left a writer to it before now, they say, 'OK, I see what you mean, I know what you want' - and then they go off on a complete tangent from what we've agreed because they don't know what it feels like to be in a band."
Roger, 66, is also adamant the film should be written by someone who was present during his incredible life.
He added: "That is one of the big problems with Keith's life - it needs to be written by someone who was there."
Meanwhile, The Who - which features guitarist Pete Townshend alongside Roger - will close this year's Teenage Cancer Trust charity shows tomorrow (30.03.10) at London's Royal Albert Hall, performing their classic album 'Quadrophenia' in its entirety.
The show could be the last for the group as Pete, 64, suffers from the hearing problem tinnitus - a severe ringing in the ears - which has started affecting his performances.
Pete is trialling a new device during the concert to combat the problem, but if it doesn't work he has admitted he may have to retire from live performances.
A source said: "This show at the Albert Hall is make or break for both him and The Who. It would be devastating for him, the rest of the group and the fans, but he knows he has to protect his health."
