Robert Plant becomes Wolves' vice-president
Wolverhampton Wanderers have named rock legend Robert Plant as their new vice president.
Speaking to the Express and Star, Plant said he was flattered to be given the role, but admitted he is also slightly embarrassed.
"There are so many other people who are so important and relevant to the club," he commented.
Plant, who turned down the chance to become a club director 30 years ago, added that he does not intend to watch games from the director's box from now on.
This comes shortly after the legendary singer was handed his CBE by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.
However, Plant has continued to rule out a full-time reunion with electric guitar player Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones following a one-off reformation in 2007.Posted on 18 Aug 2009 14:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
