Ringo Starr announces new album
Ringo Starr, who drummed his way to fame and fortune as one of the members of The Beatles, has been quietly making hit songs in the studio over the last year, surprising everyone with the announcement that he has produced his 17th solo studio album.
Simply entitled Ringo 2012, the record features guest appearances from Dave Stewart, Joe Walsh from The Eagles and Benmont Tench from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Some of the titles of the songs include Anthem, Wings, Think It Over, Samba, Rock Island Line, Step Lightly, Wonderful, In Liverpool and Slow Down.
It has been two years now since he last released a record. Y Not, which was released in 2010, saw him jam with Joss Stone and his former bandmate Paul McCartney, who himself is releasing a new album this year.
