Ringo Starr: I'll keep drumming as long as I can
Posted on 2 Feb 2012 14:12 to category : Instruments News

"My new attitude is "as long as I can hold the sticks, I can play," he told Spinner.
"And you may have noticed that in the last several years, I'm playing live more and more.”
He said his new hero is BB King, the American blues artist who is still going strong at 86.
Starr went on to tell the online news provider that there is no rivalry between him and Paul McCartney as solo musicians.
The surviving Beatles bandmates both have albums coming out at the same time, which has created something of a buzz in the industry as the two greats go head to head.
However, Starr explained that he and McCartney would never be competitive with one another as they are both distinct artists.
"Paul is Paul, Ringo is Ringo and this is what we do," he said.
"We don't phone each other and say, 'You can't bring your record out because I've got one!' We live our lives, we make our music and pick a release date. This was the date we picked and that's just how it is."
His new album is called Ringo 2012. McCartney's is called Kisses on the Bottom.
