Rich List: Simon Cowell makes it to the music top 10
Simon Cowell has finally made it into the top ten – of the Sunday Times music rich list.
The X Factor creator is now worth £200 million, up some £35 million from last year. He has moved from up five places to number six, one place behind his friend, rival and fellow music businessman Simon Fuller.
Cowell, who is also behind the successful Britain's Got Talent (BGT) TV show, joins an elite group of musical millionaires. Top of the rich list is Zomba Records founder Clive Calder, with a fortune of £1.3 billion, followed by Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Sir Paul McCartney.
It is believed that the continuing success and popularity of both the X Factor and BGT in the UK as well as the various foreign exports it has spawned across the globe have helped add to Cowell's already sizeable wealth.
The music mogul, who will not be reprising his weekly judging role on the UK version of the X Factor, is currently busy with the development of his new TV show Red or Black?. Hosted by Ant and Dec, the show will offer ordinary members of the public a chance to become millionaires over the course of a week.
