Restored piano to be played at Japanese earthquake memorial
One man has laboured day and night to restore a piano that was damaged when an earthquake and tsunami devastated Japan.
The act in itself is symbolic as the music instrument will never be "pitch perfect", but as the six-month anniversary approaches, Mr Inoue's renovation of the damaged piano is a symbolic act that the country is rebuilding itself and moving on.
Mr Inoue found one piano under a car, crushed into pieces by the weight of the vehicle. However, he also found another damaged piano hidden under debris and layers upon layers of mud.
Although he had salvaged other music instruments, it meant something to Mr Inoue to restore the only remaining piano from his store out of a total of 30.
The online news provider said the piano will now be played the renowned pianist Kumiko at a memorial concert on September 11th.
The earthquake that hit Japan was the most powerful since records began.
