Regina Spektor to play benefit gig for late cellist
Singer-songwriter Regina Spektor is set to play a special benefit concert in aid of the family of cello player Daniel Cho.
Cho, who worked with Coldplay and Katy Perry during his career, drowned in Lake Geneva in Switzerland on July 6th - one day before he was due to perform with Spektor at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
In honour of the cello player, Spektor will play at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York tonight (September 27th 2010).
Also performing at the event will be Jenny Owen Youngs and Cho's former band Cooper.
Carina Round, Jupiter One and The Candles are also going to appear at the tribute show.
Next month will see Spektor heading off to South America for a series of gigs beginning in Buenos Aires on October 6th.
She will then go on to visit Brazil, Chile and Mexico as part of her visit to the continent.
