Rage Against the Machine play free Finsbury Park show
Electric guitar band Rage Against the Machine played a free gig at Finsbury Park in London last night (June 6th 2010) as a thank you to fans who made their 1992 hit Killing in the Name last year's surprise Christmas number one.
A Facebook campaign to take the song to the top of the charts ahead of X-Factor winner Joe McElderry proved successful and the couple who started the online petition, Jon and Tracey Morter, were invited on stage by the band at the show, reports BBC 6 Music.
Guitar player Tom Morello said: "They were the David to the X Factor Goliath."
Support at the gig came from Gogol Bordello, Gallows and Roots Manuva.
The band will be back on stage in the UK again in the near future when they headline Download Festival on June 12th.
They are to play shows in Ireland, Holland and Spain in the next few days.Posted on 7 Jun 2010 20:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
