Rage Against the Machine announce free gig in London
Posted on 12 Feb 2010 10:03 to category : Music News

Rage Against the Machine electric guitar player Tom Morello has announced details of a free gig the group are putting on in London.
The band promised to stage a free live show in the UK after an internet campaign led to their song Killing in the Name to becoming Christmas number one beating X Factor winner Joe McElderry to the top spot.
As a result, Rage Against the Machine will play Finsbury Park on June 6th 2010 and the band has promised a full range of supporting acts will also be announced.
Morello said: "The people of the UK toppled the X Factor giant, raised a great deal of money for homeless charities and shocked the world.
"As a thank you to our UK fans and freedom fighters we promised to play a free show. Well...here we come."
In December, the electric guitar player said that he would be inviting Simon Cowell to MC the free gig if Rage Against the Machine won the chart battle against McElderry.
