Radiohead guitarist: Musicians have a great chance to innovate
Ed O'Brien, one of the guitar players in Radiohead, has advised young musicians that the current uncertainty facing the music industry could be a fantastic opportunity to innovate.
He told those starting out behind drum kits and on electric guitars that no one knows for sure what the future of the industry will be, reports the BBC.
"What's great about the moment is the very fact that we're living in this time of change," he said.
"I think there's huge scope for massive innovation and creativity and that's exactly what this industry needs."
Electric guitar player O'Brien said "fun and creativity" are missing from much of the music scene at the moment and expressed his hope that this will change.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Radiohead's special charity concert for Haiti raised £350,000 for the relief effort in the country.
