Radiohead drummer: Thom Yorke is one of the best songwriters around

Phil Selway, the man behind the drum kit in Radiohead, has stated his admiration for Thom Yorke's songwriting abilities.
Selway is set to release his first solo record at the end of next month (August 30th 2010) and admitted it was a somewhat daunting task to live up to the standards set by his Radiohead bandmate.
"I think he's one of the best songwriters around, it's a very high benchmark to have, a very high bar to have set for you," the drummer told NME.
Selway added that the rest of Radiohead have been very supportive about his solo work, but he had not asked Yorke for any songwriting tips.
Last month, Ed O'Brien from the band told BBC 6 Music that Radiohead are close to completing their next album.
The guitar player explained that the group have altered the way in which they record music after taking a long time to complete last LP In Rainbows.
