Queen overtake Beatles in UK album charts
Posted on 18 Nov 2009 13:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

The man who hit the drum kit on classics such as Bohemian Rhapsody has welcomed news that Queen have now spent more weeks on the British album charts than The Beatles.
Roger Taylor admitted that he was amazed when he heard that his band are now ranked ahead of John, Paul, George and Ringo in official chart statistics.
"Things like that are very nice," he told BBC 6 Music.
"They're really cherries on top of our age."
Taylor described the accolade as a "technical achievement", but joked that he does plan to let his mum know about it.
"I'm a big Beatles fan, but it's wonderful," he added.
Queen released a succession of hit albums such as A Night at the Opera, A Day at the Races, The Game and Innuendo during their career, while their Greatest Hits is officially the biggest-selling album of all time.
The band's new compilation, Absolute Greatest, looks set to enter the charts in the top ten this weekend.
