Queen legends perform in We Will Rock You
Queen's drummer and electric guitar player put in a surprise appearance as their musical We Will Rock You opened in Edinburgh.
The Ben Elton-written production incorporates Queen's songs into the story of a future world in which musical instruments are banned and individuality is frowned upon.
After wowing audiences in cities such as Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol, We Will Rock You has now moved to the Edinburgh Playhouse theatre.
The opening night was attended by Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor, both of whom took to the stage to perform Bohemian Rhapsody.
According to STV, the audience gave a huge roar of approval when May appeared to play the iconic electric guitar solo.
We Will Rock You opened at the Dominion Theatre in London in 2002 and has also been staged in countries such as Australia, Japan, the US and Spain.
The production, which incorporates Queen hits such as One Vision, Play the Game, I Want It All and Bicycle Race, will run in Edinburgh until January.Posted on 10 Nov 2009 18:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
