Queen honours Status Quo guitarists
Posted on 31 Dec 2009 09:53 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Status Quo's electric guitar players have been recognised by the Queen in the New Year Honour's List.
Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt have been blasting out classic riffs on their Fender Telecasters for more than four decades, notching up a string of classic hits including What You're Proposing, Pictures of Matchstick Men and In My Chair.
The rockers are now being honoured for their services to music and their charitable work over the years with OBEs.
Rossi expressed surprise at being handed the accolade, saying he is not sure that he deserves it.
However, he admitted that he is "made up" and said Parfitt is even more excited about it than he is.
"You start off rebellious, a teenager in a band, but you end up being part of the establishment," Rossi commented.
Status Quo have achieved more hit singles in the UK than any other band, with more recent hits including You'll Come 'Round, Jam Side Down and The Party Ain't Over Yet.
