Queen guitar player may receive honour
Posted on 21 Dec 2009 14:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Queen's electric guitar player may be about to be handed a prestigious civic honour from a local council.
Brian May, who made his name with hits such as Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You, hails from the Feltham area of London.
A councillor in the region, Peter Hills, wants to honour its famous son by making him a Freeman of Hounslow.
Speaking to the Hounslow Chronicle, the rock legend said: "It's a nice thought".
Mr Hills added that Brian May has been a very good role model for young people in the region, as he has campaigned for lots of good causes and lived a clean-cut lifestyle.
This comes shortly after a memorial to his late bandmate Freddie Mercury was unveiled in Feltham last month. The Queen frontman, who died of an Aids-related illness in 1991, lived in Feltham after relocating to the UK from Zanzibar.
Mercury and May went on to notch up a long line of worldwide hits with drummer Roger Taylor and bass guitar player John Deacon, including You're My Best Friend, Radio Ga Ga and I Want To Break Free.
