Jarvis Cocker's Sheffield rockers, Pulp, appear at number one in a new list from music mag NME featuring "100 Best Tracks Of The Nineties". Their iconic song Common People is in poll position on the list, which is headed up with an image of the lead singers of Blur, Oasis and Pulp on the magazine's website.

Common People famously name checks St Martin's College and appeared on Pulp's album Different Class, alongside other singles from around the same period such as Something Changed and Disco 2000.

Lead crooner Cocker recently released a book of his lyrics with the publisher Faber and Faber called Mother, Brother, Lover.

Another iconic 90s track, Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana appears at number two on the NME list. Stay Together by Suede is at three. Oasis and Blur both appear on multiple occasions further down the list.
