Prodigy and Slipknot onboard for Download
Posted on 11th Feb 2009 09:56 to category Band / Celebrity News
The first bands have been added to the line-up for the 2009 Download Festival at Donington Park.
Slipknot, the Prodigy, Korn and Motley Crue have all been pencilled in to play between June 12th and June 14th, along with Dragonforce, Pendulum and DevilDriver.
All of the bands have appeared at Download before, with Korn set to perform for the fifth time in seven years.
Download organisers did not reveal if any of the groups will be headlining, although Motley Crue, Korn and the Prodigy have all topped the bill on the festival's stages in the past.
One thing that appears likely is that Slipknot, who are sponsored by guitar manufacturer Ibanez, will not be performing on the last day of the event, as they are scheduled to play the Greenfield Festival in Switzerland on that date.
More bands will be added to the Download schedule over the next few months, with upwards of 100 acts expected in time for June.
