Prince's Fender Stratocaster bought by Lewis Hamilton
The gold Fender Stratocaster guitar of singer Prince has been sold for $100,000 (£61,125) to British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton.
Talking about the purchase on George Lopez Tonight, a US chat show, the singer explained that he decided to let go of his Fender Stratocaster in order to raise money for charity.
But Prince admitted: "It will be hard to part with," despite the fact that environment, education and arts funds will now receive a hefty cash injection.
While most musicians will not be able to afford a gold version of the iconic guitar, there are still plenty of Fender Stratocasters designs that could catch their eye.
Such instruments come in a plethora of colours including blue, red, black, white and brown.
