Prince rumoured to play intimate UK tour
The Purple Rain singer has recently graced the stage of London's O2 Arena, performing to over 500,000 people in more than 21 shows in the English capital's flagship venue. But this could all be set to change.
He has now apparently asked promoters to find smaller spaces for future gigs, which has whet the appetite of fans up and down the country who are relishing the opportunity to see one of the biggest stars in music in a much more intimate setting.
A source told The Sun: "Prince has gone back to basics this year, playing in front of 300 people at the SXSW festival in Texas. He's now on a US tour of small club shows and wants to do something similar in the UK later in the year.
"It's still to be decided if he'll stay at one small venue and play 20 or more gigs or split his time between a few places around the country."
It is not unusual for major acts to play a number of smaller shows, following their return from hiatus Fall Out Boy played a show in 500-capacity Camden Underworld, leaving fans scrambling for tickets.
