Pop-up pianos dotted about Miami
A total of ten pianos, which have been donated by Steinway, have been turned into 'live-action' art as they have been decorated in paint and images.
It's well-timed as well because the city's annual Art Basel Miami Beach art show has just got underway.
While ordinary members of the public can tickle the black and white piano keys, there are scheduled performances at 17:00.
In addition to bringing attention to the importance of art, the pianos' increased visibility are also a way of heightening the vibrancy of Miami's local music scene.
"Miami is so lovely and has so much to compete with, whereas, in other cities, it's cold and miserable and everyone is a little happier to cuddle inside and listen to people sing a song," Rainer Davies, a musician told NMC Miami.
In other news a British musician living in Thailand lugged his piano up a mountain to play Beethoven to a pack of blind elephants.
