Playing a musical instrument 'has positive effect on emotions'
Posted on 3 Aug 2010 17:30 to category : Instruments News

Learning to play a musical instrument can make a person happier, it has been suggested.
Music teacher Arik Stack told the KTAR website that children should be encouraged to pick up instruments as it can help develop their brains and improve their performance in subjects such as maths and science.
It was added that there are other good reasons to buy a musical instrument and start learning.
"Music definitely has a positive effect on our emotions. Playing really well, playing some very nice music is just a really rewarding experience," said the teacher.
Learning to play a musical instrument has recently been recommended by the Eastern and Coastal Primary Care Trust as part of its new three-year strategy for mental health.
It was named as one way of improving mental wellbeing, along with taking exercise, eating healthily and starting a new hobby such as dancing, reported This is Kent.
