Piano tuner reveals he isn't that good at playing the music instrument

A piano tuner reveals that he isn't that good at playing the music instrument despite working his magic on them for years.
Great deals on musical instruments

A piano tuner has revealed that although he is very talented at tweaking the music instrument he is anything but skilled when it comes to playing it.

Max Spikes, 81, who is now retired, revealed that as a musician, his instrument of choice is a trumpet and not a piano, reported the Oakland Tribune.

Mr Spikes first started learning the craft of piano tuning at around the age of 14, which was the same time he took up the trumpet.

It was not until he was at university did he give the piano a go.

"I'm very mediocre. I took secondary piano at North Texas State University, but it's sort of like a mechanic who can repair anything on a car, but he can't drive. And I've developed arthritis in my hands," he told the newspaper.

Although he is now enjoying his retirement, Mr Spikes still offers his expertise skills when bandmates are in despair.

Meanwhile he is enjoying his retirement by actively playing in a number of bands.

A £14,000 grand piano was recently vandalised in a store in Manchester during the UK riots this week.
