England flanker Joe Worsley is to spend much of this week practicing his piano playing in an effort to get fit for Saturday's Six Nations clash with Scotland, it has been reported.
According to the Evening Standard, Worsley is hoping the musical instrument will provide suitable therapy for his right thumb, which was damaged against France last week.
"I will try and play it about two or three hours a day because it is very good exercise for my hand and I love the blues and modern stuff," the rugby player remarked.
Worsley stated that there is a mini-grand piano in the hotel room of team-mate Andrew Sheridan and suggested the two could jam together as the loosehead prop has some skills on the guitar.
Fellow rugby star Ayoola Erinle was quoted on the official RFU website in 2006 as saying Worsley's piano playing inspired him to start playing the instrument again.
