Bass guitar player Peter Hook took to the stage with his new band The Light to perform at the opening of his new club in Manchester, FAC251.
Based on the site of the former Factory Records office, FAC251 opened last weekend (February 6th 2010) and Hook marked the occasion with a 17-song set that included hits from his two most famous groups, Joy Division and New Order.
Tickets to the opening night sold out in less than ten minutes and the bass guitar player told NME that the atmosphere brought back memories of his glory days.
"I was sat in the hotel room across the road before looking out of the window and it was mad," he said.
"It [was] like 1988 and The Hacienda all over again."
He was joined onstage for the gig by Stone Roses bass guitar player Mani, as well as his son Jack Hook.
Last year, Hook told the Independent that his perfect band would comprise of Iggy Pop on vocals, Keith Moon on the drum kit and Brian Eno playing the keyboard.
