Peter Buck working with The Decemberists
Peter Buck, the electric guitar player from REM, is contributing to the new album from The Decemberists.
The group are working on their sixth album, with Buck set to play on some of the tracks on the new record.
Last week, the band's frontman Colin Meloy revealed via Twitter that Buck had already joined The Decemberists in the studio on the first day of practice.
"Made Peter Buck play my fake-REM riffs and he didn't seem perturbed. Nor litigious," said Meloy.
Earlier this year, Snow Patrol star Gary Lightbody told Q Magazine that Buck was also involved in another band with him.
He stated that the electric guitar player will be joining him and Belle and Sebastian drummer Richard Colburn in a side project named Tired Pony.
Lightbody said at the time that Buck is one of his "all-time heroes" thanks to the REM star's ability to play "any stringed instrument".Posted on 6 Apr 2010 18:10 to category : Music News
