Pete Doherty plays London solo show
Libertines star Pete Doherty took out his acoustic guitar for a solo show in London earlier this week.
The star played his first gig in the UK since appearing with the rest of The Libertines at the Reading and Leeds festivals last summer.
He performed in front of fans at The Macbeth venue in Shoreditch, headlining the Cherry Cola club night, something which has also been done by bandmate Carl Barat in the past, reports NME.
Doherty's set was a mixture of classic Libertines and Babyshambles tracks, as well as some of his old solo material, but the acoustic guitar player did not perform any new songs.
The singer is set to go on tour across the UK in May, with 14 solo shows lined up to take place across the month.
He will get the run of gigs underway in Leamington Spa on May 3rd, moving on to take to the stage in venues in Leicester, Bristol, Oxford, Cambridge and Folkestone.
The remainder of the tour will see Doherty visit London, Southampton, Norfolk, Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester, before a final show takes place in Leeds on May 19th.Posted on 6 Feb 2011 09:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
