Paul Weller: I'd hate to be skint enough to reform The Jam
Paul Weller, who rocks a mod look as well as he rocks the electric guitar, told Shortlist that money was a huge motivator for the glut of recent band reunions.
There have been whispers that The Jam, who were famous for their English punk rock and new wave sound, could get back together again. Weller has dismissed that.
"Money talks, doesn't it? Hopefully I'll never be that skint," he told the magazine.
"I mean, I don't know the Roses that well, apart from Mani who's a good mate. There'll be a financial consideration, obviously, but I know from Mani's point of view that he's been mad to do it for years.
"He's actually really wanted to get back with his mates and he loved that band."
Weller also went onto say that he's not one for releasing "best of" or classic albums, it's all about progressing as a musician and producing original tracks.
His last album was Wake Up the Nation, released in 2010.
The Jam were famous for hits like Down in the Tube Station at Midnight and Going Underground.
