Paul McCartney reveals new album title
The Beatles superstar explained that the title is taken from jazz musician Fats Waller's 1935 smash hit I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter.
Waller's song has since been covered a number of time by artists, including Frank Sinatra.
It is taken from the start of the hit song, which goes: "I'm gonna sit right down and write myself a letter and make believe it came from you. I'm gonna write words oh so sweet, they're gonna knock me off of my feet. A lot of kisses on the bottom, I'll be glad I got 'em."
The album, which is slated for a February release, is notable for being the first album in which McCartney plays no instrument. He just wanted his voice to do the talking.
It features Diana Krall's band and sees heavyweight contributions from stars like Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder.
The album of covers is important to the Fab Four legend because it is music that influenced him as a child.
Needless to say, Waller's track features on the record, along with It's Only A Paper Moon, The Glory of Love, My Valentine, Always and Only Our Hearts.
