Paul McCartney: Was I in the Beatles?
The legendary singer-songwriter, who has just released a new studio album, told Metro that he felt lucky to have been in the band because their success and reach was unprecedented.
"I was looking at the George Harrison book accompanying Martin Scorsese's Living In The Material World recently and opened it at a picture George had taken of me and the other guys on an aeroplane," he told the newspaper.
"It took me right back; I was like: 'Was I really there, in The Beatles? Bloody hell!' It's obviously a stupid thought but I'm glad I haven't got used to it."
McCartney's new record, entitled Kisses On The Bottom, is comprised of old school American tracks, with a decidedly easy listening feel.
This includes classics like I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Right Myself a Letter, Bye Bye Blackbird and It's Only a Paper Moon.
