Paolo Nutini and Kasabian triumph at Q Awards
Acoustic guitar player Paolo Nutini was among the acts celebrating at last night's Q Awards.
The Scotsman picked up the prize for Best Male Act, beating off strong competition in the category from the likes of Brandon Flowers, Plan B, Paul Weller and Dizzee Rascal.
Another big winner on the night was Kasabian, with the indie stars receiving the Best Act in the World Today accolade.
Suede were handed the Q Inspiration award and singer Brett Anderson used his acceptance speech to pay tribute to the band's original guitarist Bernard Butler, who left the group in the 1990s.
"I don't think we can accept this award without mentioning Bernard and that great work he did with us early on. This one's for Bernard too," said Anderson.
Other winners at the ceremony included Florence and the Machine, Paul McCartney, Take That, Mumford and Sons and The National.
