Pantha Du Prince and The Bell Laboratory with Ableton Live
The album, named Elements of Light, combines Hendrik's electronics and laptop with The Bell Laboratory's acoustic percussion.
Ableton's documentary covers the group as they prepare to perform Terry Riley's "In C" at London's Barbican Theatre.
Pantha Du Prince used Ableton Live and hardware effects to process the instruments from The Bell Laboratory and sequence his own synths and drum machines, whilst on stage.
“I don’t see my role as someone who gives direction,” says Pantha du Prince, “I filter the sound from each musician.”
During the series of sold out shows the musicians were joined on stage by The Joshua Light Show, a veteran liquid light show founded in the psychedelic ‘60s.
These worldwide performances are seen by many as a landmark work of minimalist experimental music.
