Pablo Dylan: Bob Dylan was the Jay Z of his time.
Bob Dylan's grandson Pablo, an aspiring rapper, has compared his granddad to one of the greatest rappers ever.
The 15-year-old told Allhiphop.com: "I mean, really, my grandfather, I consider him the Jay-Z of his time, and he definitely has a legacy that a lot of people look up to."
It's an interesting comparison given that the electric guitar player Dylan is known for his folk and rock influences and sounds, whereas Jay Z is a straight up traditional hip hop pioneer.
He goes on to tell the online music provider that although he makes very different music to his granddad, he is still, nevertheless, influenced heavily by one of the 20th century's cultural icons.
"What I have done, I mean from a musical and personal standpoint, is definitely influenced by him," he said.
Although he acknowledges that comparisons will be made between the two, Pablo hopes to be judged solely on his music alone, citing that he is also inspired by other musicians including Eminem.
His first mixtape release is entitled 10 Minutes and a collaborative single with Lil' Chuckee and Darnell Robinson will be out soon.
