PRS Guitars S2 Series Models Launched
The S2s have been created using new processes in the same Maryland factory as all US-made PRS instruments. They have the same feel of classic PRS playability and reliability, with simple designs that have serious style.
Despite their no-fuss design, none of the S2 models settle for less when it comes to tone. "Tonal variations are there, whether you're playing Pop, Country or Metal," says Rich Hannon, from PRS Artist Relations.
S2 artists include Chris Robertson from Black Stone Cherry, Minus The Bear's Dave Knudson and JJ Grey, who plays an S2 Starla. "It's incredible," says JJ. "I couldn't stop playing it. It never goes out of tune, it's loud! Plus it looks awesome."
The S2 Mira is understated and refined looks-wise, but has an explosive tone thanks to its all-mahogany body and beveled top. With punch and clarity, even without being high-output, the vintage-inspired Mira can be rich and sparkling or with a dark tone and tight low end.
The S2 Custom 24 has been reimagined with stripped-down features. Keeping the maple top and mahogany back combination, the S2 Custom 24 is resonant and versatile. Although it sounds familiar, the S2 is a fresh take for players of all types.
