Over-preparation 'highly useful to guitarists'
Electric guitar players looking to master the instrument have been advised to put in plenty of hours preparing to play a track.
Guns N' Roses star Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal told the Gibson website that being "overly prepared" can help to make a guitarist more employable.
Thal said getting to know a song this well will allow an electric guitar player to offer more than is expected of them to the other musicians involved in its creation.
His other top tips for becoming a professional guitarist who can regularly find jobs include making yourself easy to work with and always turning up on time to auditions and recordings.
Guns N' Roses have had a busy year on the road, with Thal and the rest of the band touring Europe and Australia in the latter part of 2010.
The group are set to play a final show of the year in the Yas Arena in Abu Dhabi tomorrow (December 16th).
