Orange Terror Bass Head & SP210 Cab Praised
Orange terror bass head & SP210 cab have been praised in this months issue of guitar and bass magazine scoring a whopping 78% out of a 100% overall.
Orange gear has always cut a distinctive figure with gaudy tolex skins, oversized casings, retro controls and that jaunty logo.
The terror bass head finished creamy white stands 303mm wide, 133mm deep and 156mm high on its chunky rubber feet and spits out 500W via a class D power amp and a switch mode power supply.
"This miniature monster uses digital/valve power and two isobaric-arrayed speakers to make a rig you can carry into the gig in just one trip."
There are two 12AX7 valves at the gain/eq stage, so the aim is to supply an authentic valve tone with the reliability of modern digital power.
At 405mm high, 328mm wide and 381mm deep, the orange tolex-covered SP210 speaker cabinet is equally diminutive and, being loaded with two Eminence Neodynamic 10' drivers, it weighs just 20kg.
"Even though the specs tell you to expect power and depth, you'll be amazed at how loud this little rig is and at just how much the room shakes when you crank it."
Overall "Orange's plan to produce a small, powerfull bass head for rock'n'roll bass players has worked."Posted on 21 Apr 2010 17:02 to category : Instruments News
