OK Go Fender guitars to be sold for charity

The Fender electric and bass guitars used in the Do What You Want video are being offered to collectors.
Great deals on musical instruments

The range of Squier by Fender guitars used by OK Go in their memorable Do What You Want music video is being sold off for charity.

A Stratocaster, Telecaster and P Bass make up the set, with the unique guitars being specifically designed for the promo film, reports the official Fender blog FrontRow.

It was shot in a single room where every surface, prop, instrument and performer was covered in the same damask wallpaper pattern.

As with several other videos made by the band, it ended up achieving online fame, with the short film being viewed more than 500,000 times on YouTube.

The Fender guitars used in the video are now being sold off in support of the manufacturer's Music Foundation, with a price-tag of $11,000 (£6,877) being put on the items.

A host of other rare and valuable pieces of musical memorabilia is also being sold off to support the efforts of the charity.

Among the items up for grabs for collectors are a signed Zakk Wylde guitar, a new signature model Fender Stratocaster autographed by Kenny Wayne Shepherd and a psychedelic Flying V whose design was inspired by the music of Jimi Hendrix.
