Gear4music are now stocking the Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster guitars. Available in two finishes- 2-Tone Sunburst and Aged Blonde, these signature Strats have just become available after their initial airing at this year's NAMM convention in California. Earning a reputation for designing and manufacturing the very best of what the guitar world has to offer, Fender's Custom Shop range have continued to express the tonal identities of some of the world's most famed musicians since 1987.

Eric Clapton is undoubtedly a living legend, often categorised as one of the founding fathers of the modern day guitar style. Fusing an inimitable blend of blues and rock music, Clapton has forged a solid reputation from his expansive body work. Whilst a distinguished solo musician in his own right, Eric Clapton gathered much of his initial fame playing with the 1960's British Rock group Cream. As a result of his success and pioneering guitar style, Clapton was catapulted to the uppermost heights of the musical stratosphere, being heralded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th and 21st century.

Each great guitar player offers their own unique playing style. This style more often than not goes hand in hand with the particular type of guitar that they themselves play. During the early stages of his career, Clapton was often cited as favouring Gibson guitars. After a brief stint however, Clapton soon grew to be an avid user and fan of Fender's own Stratocaster guitar. With a majority of his own heroes playing the Stratocaster guitar, Clapton's jump to Fender was far from startling. Favouring the guitars clear and pristine output, Clapton's love affair with the Strat is long and enduring.

The Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster guitars embrace a stylish 'used but not abused' aesthetic. Featuring a set of noiseless single coil strat pickups that embody the timeless crisp and mid heavy sound of the Strat, the Custom Shop Strat's vintage sensibility extends far beyond its appearance. Specialised circuitry within the guitar allows you to completely mod your tone, providing for an extensive array of sound shaping capabilities. With the inclusion of the TBX Tone Control and Mid-Boost you can modify your tone like never before. A 250k potentiometer operates without the aid of a battery and allows you to boost the bass, treble, presence and output of your signal.

To embody the tone of a legend, you have to look further than the circuitry. The feel, touch and overall tonal properties of a guitar's tone wood are as integral to its sound than any parameter alteration.

Pairing an ash body with a maple neck provides the guitar with a versatile and tonally diverse playability, giving it strong control over both shimmering highs and bellowing lows.
