Novation Launchpad Ableton controller released

In conjunction with Ableton, Novation has developed Launchpad giving musicians access to many of Live's functions at their fingertips.
Launchpad has a multi-cloured 64-button grid and dedicated scene launch buttons, enabling direct integration with live for triggering and manipulating clips.
In conjunction with Ableton's Drum Racks, beats can be hammered out quickly and easily, and with Live's 'Learn' mode other functions can be assigned to Launchpad.
Included with Launchpad is a dedicated version of Ableton Live 8, although Launchpad does include Novation's patented Automap 3 software, enabling tight integration with any other music software.
Functions that are mapped as standard on Launchpad include volume, pans, sends, track arming, soloing and muting – levels can be controlled across eight channels at once.
It is possible to connect upto three Launchpads at a time to Ableton via a USB hub, with multiple Launchpads controlling a host of different functions.
Launchpad can also be considered future proof – Novation have already released a step sequencer patch for Max for Live, the visual programming environment that allows users to build their own instruments and effects within Ableton.
