Noel Gallagher reveals Liam wielded a guitar like an axe before Oasis split
Noel Gallagher has gone on the offensive and blamed his brother Liam's antics for the end of Oasis.
The elder Gallagher brother revealed that a plum-throwing incident and his brother Liam "wielding a guitar like an axe" was the final straw of a tempestuous relationship and brought about the end of Oasis.
He said that a row erupted after Liam, who has his own fashion label – Pretty Green, wanted to advertise his products on the cover of the Oasis tour programme.
"It slowly went downhill after that," Noel added.
The bad feeling between the pair was exacerbated by Oasis' no-show at V Festival in 2009, which was blamed on a bout of laryngitis suffered by lead singer Liam.
Noel says Liam was in fact just too hungover to show up, but the negative press caused by the no-show caused the front man to rage against his brother.
Liam apparently threw a plum at Noel, before returning with a guitar which he was "wielding like an axe".
Both Liam and Noel have now started other projects with Liam and other former Oasis members starting Beady Eye and Noel set to release his solo album Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds on October 17th.
