No Doubt working on new album
No Doubt are teaming up with hit-making producer Mark “Spike’ Stent to record their first studio album in over a decade.
The last time the band released an album was in 2001 with their hit Rock Steady.
Following the release of that album, lead singer Gwen Stefani went on to record two solo albums, which were Love. Angel. Music. Baby (2004) and The Sweet Escape (2006).
Although they had initially got back together in 2008, they had to once again put down their music instruments as Stefani had become pregnant.
During the break, Adrian Young played drums for Maroon Five, Tony Kanal swapped his bass guitar for music software, producing hits for stars including Pink and guitar player Tom Dumont also dabbled in music production.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, the singer said that 2011 had been a good year for the band with them recording nine tracks at Stent's Santa Monica studio.
Kanal added: "Writing with other people is a learning experience. But when you come back, and you're sitting in a room together, it feels like home."
Although their sixth album is yet to have a title, the band let slip a couple of song titles that have been decided upon, which includes One More Summer and Settle Down.
