Nicki Minaj's 'Fly' collaboration with Rihanna
Nicki Minaj says her new track with Rihanna is "empowering".
The upcoming rap star is a huge fan of the 'Umbrella' hitmaker having worked with her on 'Raining Men' and revealed she loves the strong message of their most recent collaboration 'Fly' from her 'Pink Friday' album.
She said: "I wanted to work with Rihanna for a long time. I'm very proud of her accomplishments; especially since she was born on an island like me :). This song is a female empowerment song. But then again, it's not specific to just women. It speaks about flying, soaring high in the face of every single solitary adversity that comes your way."
The singer has collaborated with a string of top artists for 'Pink Friday' - including Eminem and Kanye West - and confessed working with Drake on 'Moment 4 Life' was another highlight.
She explained: "Oh yeah, 'Moment 4 Life' features Drake! I was really looking forward to our collaboration and it lived up to every one of my expectations."
'Pink Friday' will be released on November 22 in the US.Posted on 16 Nov 2010 06:45 to category : Music News
