New diplomas launched for acoustic and bass guitar teachers
Posted on 21 Jan 2010 16:40 to category : Instruments News

Acoustic and bass guitar teachers could gain a new qualification relevant to their instrument following the launch of three new specialist diplomas.
The Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) has decided to launch the schemes following the success of its electric guitar teaching diploma, which started in 2008.
Potential acoustic and bass guitar teachers will receive training in the best way to pass on their knowledge about the instrument.
The diplomas are accredited by Thames Valley University and are being launched in conjunction with the London College of Music Exams.
Last year, RGT expanded its range of diplomas available to electric guitar players.
For those with a Grade 8 qualification in the instrument, courses were made available in rock, pop and blues electric guitar playing.
Earlier this month, electric guitar legend Jimmy Page told the Scotsman that you never stop learning new things about the instrument.
"You're learning as you go along - second by second," the Led Zeppelin star explained.
