New device turns iPad into a guitar
Starr Labs have developed a new device they describe as the iTar, which uses an attachable fingerboard together with an app to modify a person’s iPad into a guitar.
According to developers, the device is aimed at anyone interested in music, especially those fond of guitars. It’s even aimed at those who love gadgets and specifically consumers with an iPad who are always on the hunt for interesting apps.
The company said: "Our project is designed for musicians, guitar heroes, electronic artists, iPad junkies and hackers looking for a fun and easy way to take their show on the road.
"At its heart the device is a button-based guitar fretboard (Starr Labs patented fingerboard) integrated with a dock for the iPad which will transform the tablet into a 21st century musical instrument we call the iTar."
Starr Labs is a firm favourite of some of the world's most famous musicians, who have been captivated by the company's advances in fretboard technology.
Lou Reed, Linkin Park and the Chemical Brothers are just a few artists who have used devices produced by Starr Labs.
