New Yamaha trombone offers "great versatility"
Posted on 27 Apr 2009 11:39 to category : Instruments News
Those looking to try the new YSL891Z trombone can be assured of "great versatility", according to manufacturer Yamaha.
The company announced the details of the brass instrument on its official website over the weekend, claiming it to be "perfect for both professionals and amateurs alike".
Featuring two interchangeable leadpipes, the latest addition to the Z Custom series of Jazz range is designed to be adaptable to the musicians style of playing and was built under the guidance of famous trombonists Andy Martin and Wycliffe Gordon.
The firm boasts that the trombone, which made its debut at Musikmesse in Frankfurt at the start of this month, "provides its players with a pure and perfectly balanced tone with great response [and] great intonation".
Yamaha is well known for the quality of its brass instruments. In February, it was revealed that three members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra had elected to play trumpets from the company's Xeno Artist range.
