New Yamaha Acoustic Guitars Praised
Posted on 12 Apr 2010 16:36 to category : Instruments News

Yamaha are famous for producing high-quality musical instruments at affordable prices.
Their acoustic guitars are of no exception, and two new models have just been released - the LLX6A and the LLX16.
This month, Acoustic Magazine looked at these new electro-acoustic dreadnoughts and heavily praised Yamaha for the build quality, tones and pricing of these guitars.
The LLX6A is a dreadnought electro-acoustic guitar that features a premium solid Engelmann spruce top, rosewood back and sides and a 3-ply Mahogany/Rosewood/Mahogany neck that delivers both strength and a more balanced tone.
This acoustic guitar impressed from the offset, and Acoustic Magazine's reviewer praised Yamaha for making a guitar of such high quality.
The reviewer commented: "You may expect such quality as this from a high standard of luthiery in a custom-built guitar, and here it is to be enjoyed in the LLX6A in ample measure.
"Playing this guitar is like unleashing a male voice of choir of singers."
Acoustic Magazine's reviewer also heavily praised the onboard tuner on the LLX6A for its partnership-like accuracy with the machine heads.
The LLX16 is a very similar guitar to the LLX6A and unsurprisingly was also heavily praised by Acoustic Magazine.
The main difference between the two guitars comes from the System 60 preamp found on the LLX16. The System 60 preamp features bass, middle, treble and volume controls through control knobs on the top of the guitar.
Once you've found your perfect EQ and volume settings, you can push the controls into the guitar and lock them in place - a great advantage to any guitarist whether on stage or in the studio.
Looking at the LLX16, the reviewer commented: "I have never seen black look so stealthy and suave on a guitar. It looks like it means business and it delivers it too. The build is exceptional, even flawless."
In conclusion, Acoustic Magazine' reviewer recommended these guitars for anyone who could afford them, commenting that Yamaha have provided guitars of a quality only usually seen on far more expensive models.
"They are both exceptional instruments which earn their high-standard ratings with consummate ease."
