New Michael Jackson album to be released
A new Michael Jackson album featuring unreleased recordings will be released next month.
The album, simply titled 'Michael' will include tracks the late singer was working on just before his tragic death of acute Propofol intoxication last June.
Although details are so far scant, a teaser trailer will appear on his website tomorrow (06.11.10) followed by a track, 'Breaking News', which will be available to stream on the site for one week from Monday (08.11.10). The album will then be released on December 13.
According to a spokesperson for the star, 'Breaking News' was: "Recorded in New Jersey in 2007 and recently brought to completion."
It was known that Michael had worked on new material before his death with both Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am and singer songwriter Ne-Yo.
'Closer' singer Ne-Yo has previously said of his experience writing for the star: "Michael told me the songs had to be magical. 'Magical' was a word that kept coming up. He chose about ten of my songs for his new album."
Will.i.am has been less than positive about the release plans however, saying he doesn't feel it is right that material left unfinished should be released without Michael's "blessing".
He said: "I don't think that should ever come out. That's bad. He was a perfectionist and he wouldn't have wanted it that way.
"How you gonna release Michael Jackson when Michael Jackson ain't here to bless it? Now that he is not part of the process, what are they doing?
"Because he was a friend of mine, I just think that's disrespectful. You don't disrespect someone when they're gone. How much can you suck from his energy? Freaking parasites!"
Michael's family are yet to comment on the new album.
