Nelly Furtado 'inconsolable' after Oasis split
The singer, who has notched up hits including Maneater and I'm Like a Bird, said she was a big fan of the Manchester band during her teenage years.
Indeed, she admitted that the band "meant the world" to her and that as a 16-year-old, she dreamed of dating frontman Liam Gallagher.
However, personal differences between him and Noel led to the electric guitar player choosing to walk out from Oasis in August - leaving the future of the group in doubt.
"I learned to play guitar to Wonderwall," Furtado commented.
"Oasis were everything I loved about pop music."
She added that the band were able to express emotions with very simple song structures and had a "brash attitude" that she could relate to.
Oasis made their name in the mid-1990s with a string of hits including Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger, Supersonic and Whatever.Posted on 28 Sep 2009 11:12 to category : Band / Celebrity News
