NAMM 2017: Vox Custom Series, MV50, BC112/BC108, Headphone Guitar Amplifier
Vox was founded in 1957, and since then have graced the music industry with a plethora of groundbreaking products. With this year marking the 60th year of Vox and its innovative stylings, they have produced yet another revolutionary addition to their line up.
An analog pre-amp that houses the game changing Nutube, the Vox MV50 Clean/ AC/ Rock is the ultimate contender in modern amplification. Whilst at first glance it may not look intimidating Vox's astounding Nu Tube technology enables the tiny terror to produce a truly monstrous sound that far surpasses its delicate stature. Nutube, similar in its composition to a traditional vacuum tube, features an anode grid filament structure, and works exactly the same as a triode vacuum tube. With 50W of output power and an authentic tube amp tone, this mini monstrosity is able to blow larger amps completely out of the water!
From new school to old school, Vox don't shy away from taking inspiration from the classics. Brandishing a distinct influence from the custom colour models of the 60's, the White Bronco finish is a defining characteristic of the Custom Series. Featuring a Diamond grille cloth that has been specifically chosen to offset the bright hue of the amplifiers, Vox's White Custom series exude both class and sophistication.
To produce a truly remarkable guitar tone, one must consider the effect of that the cab will have on the sound that is relayed to the audience. As the final consideration of your guitar rig, the guitar cab is an often overlooked component of many a guitar players set up.
Designed to Vox's meticulous design standards, the Vox BC112/BC108 Black Cab Series take full advantage of your guitar amp heads potential, projecting its nuanced tonal qualities to its entire capacity. With its specially designed body, the amplifiers further enhance the low-frequencies projected throughout your playing, helping you to cut through the mix at any venue. Able to be used with virtually any guitar head, the BC112/BC108 is able to punch well above its weight and support a massive sound that exceeds its small stature.
With their relatively small size, the amp has been designed to enhance its portability for the working musician. Despite their compact size, the BC108 and BC112 use their 8-inch and 12-inch Celestion V type Speakers to achieve a larger than life tone that sets them leagues apart from their competitors.
With accessibility and portability a key component of any instrument or musical accessory, the Vox Headphone Amplifier delivers on all fronts. Plug in to your guitar and connect your headphones to experience a completely fully fledged amp sound. With new additions to the range, Vox's Headphone guitar Amplifier series now consist of the amPlug 2 Clean, amPlug 2 Blues and amPlug 2 Lead. Whilst the "Blues" and "Clean" amplifiers are brand new models, the "Lead" builds upon the foundations of its predecessor, bringing back more classic tones for on the fly shredding. Each come with carefully designed analog circuitry that encourage exceptionally high quality tone upon every use. Extremely responsive, the headphone amps replicate the circuitry of a vacuum tube amp and are able to express subtle difference between guitars and their pickups. The authentic nature of these amps is extended even further through their astonishing ability to replicate the air flow that emanates from a traditional speakers cabinet.
To be exclusively previewed at this years NAMM, Vox's 2017 range are gathering heaps of attention.
