NAMM 2017: Lunastone Trueoverdrive1 Pedal
NAMM 2017 saw the release of many great new products across the board, showcasing the innovations and triumphs of the music industry in spectacular fashion. Danish guitar effects company Lunastone revealed their latest pedal 'TrueOverDrive1', a revolutionary new effects unit that captures an authentic tube sound whilst simulating traditional tube amp behaviour.
Speaking of the TrueOverDrive1 head engineer and founder Steen Grøntved stated:
"It was paramount to me to preserve the fundamental nature of the TrueOverDrive character in this new pedal, and I am very pleased with the result. TOD1 is characterized by extreme transparency even at high-gain settings something you would normally only be able to achieve with good old tube amps driven hard and not from a drive pedal. The characteristics of your beloved guitars, pickup settings, and amplifiers stay intact and will not get smudged by over saturation when you increase the gain/drive amount on the pedal. Also, turning down the volume knob on your guitar will clean up your sound steplessly, thanks to the TrueOverDrive technology based on cascaded gain stages. I truly believe that TOD1 will grow with you and be your 'always-on-the-board' pedal. Your one true drive love."
Utilising a cascading gain stage approach, the TrueOverdrive1 builds upon the foundations of Lunastones most popular pedal, The Big Fella Trueoverdrive . With an altogether smaller composition, the Trueoverdrive1 proves to be a more practical solution that allows for more room either on your pedalboard or on the stage.
The pedal's knobs have been positioned diagonally to achieve a more practical and ergonomically conscious design, enabling you to easily tweak your parameters whilst playing. With the knobs being placed so closely to the edges of the pedal, your parameters are also able to be easily altered with your feet, making it the ideal pedal for any live musician.
